Public Hearings & Input

The Commissioners traveled around the State of Arizona in the Summer of 2001 conducting public hearings. The purpose of the hearings was to present information about the redrawing of Arizona's congressional and legislative districts and hear input from citizens about redistricting.

The hearings took place in two separate rounds: Round 1 consisted of twenty-four (24) public hearings between June 11th and June 30th; and Round 2 consisted of nineteen (19) public hearings between August 25th and September 15th.

The notices, transcripts, excerpts, and summaries of these hearings are presented here. Please note that some of the transcripts are large files and may take a while to download. Most transcripts contain the public comment portion of the hearings only. All files require Adobe Acrobat to view.
